Believe it or not, I didn't actually start sewing until I was nearly 28, right after the birth of our fourth sweet baby. As a stay at home mom that needs to stay busy, I was in search of something just for me. I randomly came across a quilting video on YouTube and immediately purchased an inexpensive sewing machine. From there, my new favorite hobby was born!

 

I quickly made my first quilt and although it wasn't very pretty, it's still loved each and every day by our youngest baby. What started as a hobby quickly became a small obsession. I scoured the internet for knowledge, slowly figuring out what tips and techniques worked and didn't work for me. While quilting was how it all got started, it quickly grew to all things sewing, including hand-embroidery, clothes-making and crochet. Southern Sewing Co. was born!
